Cokelat (English: Chocolate) is Indonesian band formed in Bandung, in 1996. They have released seven albums. The current members are Sarah (vocalist), Ernest (lead guitarist), Edwin (rhythm guitarist) and Ronny (bassist).

Career

The band was formed in STISI campus, Bandung, in 1996.[1] The name of the band Cokelat order meant to they are liked by many people like chocolate.[1] Their music originally was influenced by Frente, Alanis Morisette and The Cranberries.[1]

In February 2000, album Untuk Bintang was released, and the main track was Pergi.[1]

In 2001, they released Rasa Baru with Karma as the first track.[1] In 2002, they released Rasa Baru repackaged, the singles were Bendera and Luka Lama.[1]

In 2003, they released Segitiga on an airplane in flight.[1]

In 2004, Dari Hati was released with Saat Jarak Memisahkan as the main track.[1]

In 2009, they released single Lima Menit untuk Lima Tahun in order to socialize Indonesian legislative election, 2009.[2]

In March 2010, Kikan resigned, and in June 2010 the drummer, Ervin resigned or fired.[3] In vocalist position, Sarah replaced Kikan and the drummer position is filled by additional player.[3]
